Mexico. During the inauguration ceremony of the new facility, Jian Fu (Lewis), President of Midea International, spoke about the brand's vision for the region, as well as its global impact.
Jian Fu (center, pictured) is responsible for the operation of 14 business units in North America, South America and EMEA, as well as the development of the brand internationally.
"We started our operations in Mexico in 2007, only with air conditioning, and today, in addition to air conditioners, we already have the complete catalog of appliances, such as refrigerators, freezers, fans, heaters and others. In this way, we employ more than 120 employees in the country," Fu said.
The executive also highlighted the strategic importance of Mexico within Midea's global presence, especially for expansion in Central and Latin America, adding that the opening of the new office is a commitment to growth and closeness to customers in the region.
Midea has had a distribution center in the city of Monterrey since 2007, with reach in each of the 32 entities in the country. Thanks to this, the company has already distributed more than 1 million units of all the categories that the brand has.
Benjamín Peña Isla (right, pictured), General Manager of Midea Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and Andean Region, highlighted that the inauguration of the new corporate office in Mexico City is of great relevance for the company, as it will serve as a hub for local and regional operations: "Our goal in Mexico is to position Midea as one of the main options for consumers, Build trusting relationships with our customers and expand our market presence. To this end, our marketing strategies are completely focused on the needs of the Mexican consumer."
During the event, the executives – who also included Gary Lee, Deputy General Manager of Midea Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and Andean Region; and Elizabeth Calvillo, Senior Marketing Manager of Midea Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and Andean Region – toured the new facilities and carried out the traditional ribbon cutting.
