International. Until September 15, the campaign called World Sustainable Construction Week 2023 will be carried out, which seeks to raise awareness and accelerate the transition of the construction sector towards energy efficiency worldwide.
The initiative corresponds to the World Green Builidng Council (WGBC) network, made up of more than 75 national Green Building Councils, in turn composed of 46,000 members.
The WGBC will host events around the world and share examples of #BuildingTheTransition in three different areas, namely: energy transition, regenerative transition and just transition.
As for regenerative energy, it is accepted that natural resources are not infinite. That means not only protecting biodiversity, but also prioritizing its restoration, adopting nature-based solutions, and creating a thriving circular economy across the entire construction value chain.
Finally, there is talk of a just transition in the built environment, which means committed solidarity to protect human rights and provide opportunities for skills to thrive.
"Through systems change thinking and leveraging local solutions, we can transition to sustainable built environments," the organizer said on its official website.
As in the rest of the planet, the World Sustainable Construction Week 2023 includes several activities to be carried out in the Latin American region.
