Revolution in the HVAC industry: trends that will mark 2025

International. The global heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry is facing a radical transformation in 2025, driven by digitalization, sustainability, and new market demands.

A report by Frost & Sullivan reveals that the convergence of the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud solutions is redefining the design, operation and security of these systems.

Smart HVAC systems are revolutionizing energy efficiency and operational management with real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and proactive maintenance. The integration of AI and machine learning (ML) allows you to optimize performance, extend the life of equipment, and customize climate control according to demand.

However, increasing digitalization has also made these systems a key target for cybersecurity. Frost & Sullivan warns that protecting data and networks will be a priority in 2025, with the adoption of zero trust frameworks and advanced solutions against cyberattacks.

"Securing connected systems involves detecting unauthorized devices, monitoring anomalous behavior, and encrypting critical data," said Dennis Marcell Victor, growth expert at Frost & Sullivan.

Eco-friendly refrigerants and subscription models transform business

Regulatory pressure and environmental commitments are accelerating the use of low-GWP refrigerants, in an effort to reduce the sector's carbon footprint.

In parallel, the trend toward HVAC as a Service (HVACaaS) is changing the way customers purchase and manage these systems. Flexible subscription models are gaining traction, allowing you to reduce upfront costs and ensure optimized performance with proactive maintenance included.

Another key point in the evolution of the industry is the integration of HVAC systems into building automation infrastructures using open protocols such as BACnet/IP and Modbus. This will facilitate greater interoperability, giving customers more flexibility in upgrading and expanding their systems.

The HVAC industry is moving into a new era where technology, energy efficiency, and cybersecurity will define the success of businesses. According to Frost & Sullivan, companies that are committed to digitalization and sustainability will be better positioned in this transforming market.
