Chile. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) and Chilealimentos opens the door to a partnership dedicated to consolidating the cold chain industry in Latin America.
Chilealimentos is the Association of Food Companies of Chile, a private entity of a trade union nature that brings together and represents processed food companies and companies of machinery, equipment and services related to food processing.
For its part, the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) represents industries involved in the storage, logistics and temperature-controlled transport of perishable products, worldwide.
The document was signed on August 17 by Gonzalo Bachelet, president of Chilealimentos and Adam Thocher, senior vice president of Global Programs and Ideas of GCCA, as well as Executive Director of Global Cold Chain Foundation (GCCF).
What is sought with the alliance
In the first instance, the MOU will promote new initiatives for the cold chain industry in Chile, share knowledge and experiences in specialty areas and collaborate in educational and networking events for the industry.
"This connection strengthens our commitment to work together with Chilealimentos with the aim of helping the entire cold chain community of the country to find solutions and share best practices, in a way that promotes the importance of the entire national industry in the global food chain," said Adam Thocher about the signing of the agreement.
