Mexico. Danfoss concluded with its May Road Show in which it offered theoretical-practical training on Fractional Compressors for commercial refrigeration. This initiative passed through Mexico City, Puebla and Veracruz, with the main objective of training its business partners on new solutions in commercial refrigeration.
Danfoss' goal is to offer commercial refrigeration products with low environmental impact solutions and to continue training installation technicians in each place. Most current compressors can work with multiple refrigerants, including the new low-level synthetic refrigerants from GWP (Global Warming Potential). Although the thermodynamic behavior of the new refrigerants is similar in capacity (BTU per pound of refrigerant) this does not happen with the other properties, such as the discharge temperature since the application range of the same compressor when used with R404A changes when connected to R448 / 449.
The company explained that when using the new refrigerant the discharge temperatures are higher when the evaporation temperature is reduced. That is why overheating should be limited to the suction of the compressor. Like this there are many examples with different refrigerants that can give us the same cooling capacity with a much more favorable environmental impact than current refrigerants; among them hydrocarbons and natural refrigerants. They all represent an improvement in technology, but we must understand well the differences involved in their use to perform it in the safest way, both for the equipment, as well as for users and installers.
