International. More than 60% of all grid failures last more than 100 milliseconds and even 2% last more than a second, according to information from Piller, a producer of electrical power protection systems and high-performance converters.
Voltage disturbances can jeopardize electrical and electronic equipment runs, often costing businesses and users millions of dollars a year. Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) alone recorded losses equivalent to almost 43 billion pesos.
These fluctuations result in an uncertain future for companies, as well as staff losses or even the closure of the same, so Grupo Hosto, a Mexican company dedicated to the energy industry, proposes the following solutions to reduce millionaire losses due to power cuts:
- Check the company's wiring: To anticipate any damage to the electrical system and thus avoid failures.
- Install solar panels: Although the cost of the investment is high, it does not pollute and is a constant source of energy.
- Give constant maintenance to the equipment: Since it is more valuable to have the equipment in good condition than to subsequently generate failures that may cause an electrical short.
- Being the most important, to implement an uninterruptible power system (UPS): It is responsible for providing a continuous and quality power supply at all times, with rotary technology that is resistant to overloads and electrical disturbances.
