Mexico. In order to position the Aztec country as a benchmark in terms of technological advances aimed at the search for energy efficiency, the company Schneider Electric began the construction of its Center for Innovation and Development of New Products in the city of Monterrey.
In this project the company will invest more than US$65 million and expects to generate about 300 jobs in the next 5 years. In addition, it will be located in the Research and Technological Innovation Park (PIIT), with 6,000 m2 of total construction, which makes it an important development pole for this Mexican city. One of the most important features of the Center is that it will be certified under the LEED standard and is expected to reach the Silver level. With the above, the company hopes to be an example of how to efficiently manage the energy of a property, from its conception and construction, to its daily operation. "With the start-up of the construction of the Innovation Center, at Schneider Electric, we reinforce our commitment to the community and the environment, to promote in a sustainable way, high-level research and development activities ," said Enrique González Haas, president and director of Schneider Electric Mexico and Central America. The official added that "the combination of the valuable Mexican human resource with the creation and equipment of Research and Development facilities will strengthen a world-class center to solve the challenges in the efficient use of energy."
