International. Toshiba revealed that sales of air conditioning equipment grew for the second consecutive year (2010 and 2011), thanks to the launch of the SMMSi 2-pipe VRF system, which has high industry values in SEER's.
This product was followed in the second quarter of this year with the introduction of the SHRMi 3-pipe VRF, which added new improvements and a platform of new sophisticated controls. The company indicated that it will also introduce new additions to the range of heat pumps of the Estia line.
"With rising energy costs and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions, we must focus on delivering better efficiency while maintaining high-quality comfort conditions in buildings," said David Dunn, the firm's chief commercial officer.
The company has also launched a green recycling program for when the end of life of air conditioning equipment arrives. This will be followed in the coming months by the implementation of a new carbon offset plan, which will allow end users to neutralize the carbon impact on the installation of air conditioning.
