Colombia. Engineer José Luis Correa Guzmán, Senior Consultant in Sustainable Construction: Energy & Comfort, has been appointed as Chair of the ASHRAE Publications Committee.
The appointment was confirmed by ASHRAE President-elect Sheila Hayter, who through a letter,
"You have been recommended for an ongoing or new assignment on the society's 2018-2019 senior committee. Because of his demonstrated interest and willingness to work on behalf of ASHRAE, I have the privilege of naming him," reads the confirmation letter signed by Sheila Hayter.
"I am pleased to share with the ACR community the appointment of ASHRAE President-Elect Sheila Hayter as Chair of the ASHRAE Publications Committee. I hope from there to continue contributing to the progress of ASHRAE in Colombia and worldwide," said José Luis, after the news.
José Luis is a Mechanical Engineer (National University of Colombia), whose enthusiasm for sustainable construction, led him to advance the Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Design Engineering, in London-England (University College London).
He firmly believes in the achievement of a better society through better constructions, which is why, during his more than 7 years of experience in the sustainability sector, he has developed topics related to the optimization of energy consumption and quality of the interior environment in constructions, e.g. energy audit, computer energy simulation, passive design, renewable energy, lighting, thermal comfort, air conditioning and ventilation, among others.
He is committed to LEED environmental certification both commercially and educationally, has been a LEED AP of certified projects and advisor to many others; Additionally, he is a lecturer at universities (lecturer of the LEED Diploma at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana), and congresses on issues of sustainable construction, energy efficiency and quality of the interior environment.
