The Ministry of Economy and Employment has completed a total of 23 actions carried out in 18 mining municipalities of Castilla y León in order to encourage the use of renewable energies in public buildings in the Community, within the framework of the III Endowment Plan of Renewable Energies of public buildings of mining towns.
As reported by the department directed by Tomás Villanueva in a statement collected by Europa Press, the Junta de Castilla y León authorized on May 6 subsidies worth 2,000,000 euros to finance these actions and achieve a reduction in the use of electricity and fossil fuels, "in addition to an increase in the use of renewable energies that bring economic benefits, environmental and employment generation for the mining municipalities of the Community".
Of the 23 projects developed, 19 are aimed at energy saving, 2 related to biomass projects and 2 with solar thermal energy. On the other hand, the Bierzo-Villablino mining basin brought together 2 of these projects, Sabero-Guardo-Barruelo did the same with 10 projects. For its part, the mining basin of the North of León adds the remaining 11 projects. (EUROPA PRESS)
