During the VI Workshop on Environmental Information for the Media, the president of the National Institute of Ecology (INE), Adrián Fernández Bremauntz, stressed the growing importance of a Climate Change Law entering into force in Mexico to advance and monitor projects on greenhouse gas mitigation and thus achieve the proposed objectives regarding this issue.
As for resources, he said nations are considering applying the $30 billion quick start-up fund agreed in Copenhagen, thanks to bilateral cooperation or regional banks. "It is intended to find financing to support methane gas reduction measures, a quick and not so expensive way to reduce the emission of these gases," concluded Fernández Bremauntz.
