Honduras. With the new wind farm on the hill of Hula and the mountain of Izopo, 24 km from Tegucigalpa, the Honduran government will have an estimated production of 360 gigawatts per year, necessary to supply 100 thousand homes, and that will generate a significant reduction in the consumption of fossil fuels required for the production of electricity.
This clean energy initiative will cost US$300 million and will be made up of 51 Gamesa G87 wind turbines of two megawatts each, installed in towers 80 meters high, with three blades of 40 meters, and a substation of 100 megawatts where the energy will be delivered by the generating plant.
The work, which is part of the energy policy of the Government of this country, aims to change the thermal energy matrix to renewable and joins 50 other projects of this type that have been authorized by the National Congress.
