International. The ventilation solutions company Sodeca has made a significant effort in the last decade to promote sustainability in its processes.
Thanks to this, and on the occasion of the International Day against Climate Change, the company has announced that it has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 36% since 2015, based on its turnover. This effort carried out over the last decade has been recognised by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) of Spain with the seals for calculation and reduction of the carbon footprint.
SODECA's headquarters in Ripoll, inaugurated in 2018, has strengthened the company's commitment to sustainability. The Environmental Management System implemented in this main plant has been certified with ISO 14001:2015. This certification endorses the company's environmental performance and the constant effort to optimize its activities and processes to reduce the impact on the environment.
SODECA's action in environmental terms has not been limited only to the reduction of greenhouse gases. In 2023, the company decreased by
total packaging consumption by 23% compared to the previous year, reaching 25% in the specific case of plastics.
Another priority has been waste management, where a policy based on the circular economy has been defined, avoiding disposal methods and promoting the reuse, recycling and recovery of waste. With the set of actions that SODECA carries out, it contributes to the promotion of 9 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
This commitment to the environment has been recognised by a prestigious international organisation, which has placed SODECA among the 27% of the best companies in the world in terms of sustainability, after evaluating more than 130,000 companies globally.
