Latin America. The company Emergent Cold LatAm inaugurated facilities in Brazil and Uruguay, describing both openings as significant milestones in its expansion strategy in the region.
The infrastructure in Brazil is the second cold storage facility that the company has in Guarulhos, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The new facility expands the warehouse already operational on site, with a total storage capacity of 51,000 pallet positions, distributed over a total area of 347,000 cubic meters. In this way, the completed plant becomes the company's largest temperature-controlled warehouse in Latin America, representing a 20% increase in its capacity in the country.
Emergent Cold LatAm expects to generate around 300 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs, positively impacting the local economy. "The combined capacity of the two warehouses in Guarulhos represents one of the largest temperature-controlled storage facilities in Greater São Paulo," said Evandro Calanca, the company's general manager for the Southern Cone region.
Also in Uruguay
Emergent Cold Latin America has also just inaugurated a new expansion of its warehouse in Montevideo, located in the Polo Oeste logistics park.
Thanks to the initiative, the existing warehouse expanded its capacity by 13,000 pallet positions for frozen and refrigerated products. The total warehouse capacity now stands at 48,000 pallet positions in a storage area of 267,000 cubic metres.
"This expansion of our facilities in Uruguay offers a modern and efficient infrastructure to support temperature-controlled food logistics for both domestic and export markets, allowing for effective and sustainable storage at various temperatures," commented Evandro Calanca.
