International. ABI Research evaluated Johnson Controls' OpenBlue ecosystem of connected technologies and services, rating its implementation the highest score among nine other platform vendors.
Johnson Controls has been named a global leader for its smart building management platform in the Smart Building Management Platforms assessment conducted by ABI Research, a global technology intelligence firm.
The researchers gave it the highest implementation score among nine other platform vendors, and those results were reconfirmed in ABI Research's 55 Technology Leaders To Watch In 2024 report.
"Buildings are responsible for approximately 40% of global emissions and new levels of efficiency and sustainability can only be achieved through digitalization," said Vijay Sankaran, Chief Technology Officer of Johnson Controls. "This recognition that OpenBlue digital technology and services are the overall market leaders is a testament to the continued dedication and commitment to innovation we have to create the smart buildings of the future."
For this assessment, ABI Research compared nine leading commercial building platforms capable of digitizing, capturing, managing, monitoring, and improving performance across a broad cross-section of commercial building verticals, applications, and portfolios.
The researchers rendered their verdict, based on the company's commitment to supporting existing and new customers with its platform and related services.
"Johnson Controls was the leading global provider in ABI Research's market assessment. Johnson Controls' OpenBlue architecture represents a cohesive and comprehensive set of offerings to accelerate building management, raise awareness, and increase adoption of smart buildings," said Rithika Thomas, Industry Analyst at ABI Research.
Johnson Controls' OpenBlue is an industry ecosystem of connected technologies, expertise and services. As part of this research, we evaluated the OpenBlue Enterprise Manager (OBEM) solution, a set of software solutions that form a comprehensive building performance management platform to power a new class of smart buildings that are safe, healthy and sustainable.
By combining data from all building systems and utility bills, and using advanced AI-enhanced digital experiences, OBEM provides more actionable money-saving and emissions-reducing insights than would be possible with siloed, less connected systems, all while taking occupant comfort into account.
It also helps clients simplify carbon emissions reporting and regulatory compliance with building performance standards. With deployments around the world, spanning commercial office spaces, healthcare, education, campuses, and more, OBEM enables real-time data visibility across assets, people, and processes, enabling customers to drive intelligent, proactive operations from a single pane of glass.
