Ziehl-Abegg obtains Eurovent Certification

Ziehl-Abegg obtiene la Eurovent Certification

InternationalZiehl-Abegg was the first fan manufacturer to obtain the new certification, which evaluates equipment intended for air handling units (AHUs).

In this way, the brand's products are already certified under the Eurovent Certified Performance program for fans, which has been improved in collaboration with the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc.

The new development of the program began in the spring of 2023, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Eurovent Certification, the Eurovent trade association, AMCA International and two of its regional organizations: the European Air Movement and Control Association (EU AMCA) and the Asian Air Movement and Control Association (ASIA AMCA).

Eurovent Certification and AMCA International then set to work on a value-added fan certification program, with the aim of offering a more dynamic approach to product certification. By November, the new program was ready for launch, and on March 5, 2024, the first certificates were awarded to Ziehl-Abegg.

Certification
The revamped certification system assures HVAC professionals and decision-makers that certified products will deliver the performance promised by the manufacturer.

Fan certification is available worldwide, in a joint program designed to maintain high certification standards, while reducing manufacturer costs and administrative burden.

The new system combines the best of AMCA and Eurovent into a single certification program, with the aim of removing the administrative and cost barriers that fan manufacturers face when certifying their products.

First, products are evaluated against AMCA's certification protocols, in accordance with its most recent testing and classification standards. This includes aspects such as airflow rates and available pressure, with options to certify acoustic characteristics and energy efficiency.

Once products have earned AMCA certification, they can apply for the Eurovent Certified Performance mark for fans by undergoing an initial intake audit. This audit verifies the consistency between what is declared by the manufacturers, endorsed by the AMCA certification, and what is produced and sold by the manufacturer. The products then go through a monitoring process with annual audits by Eurovent Certification.

Simon Engert, Head of Public Affairs at Ziehl-Abegg, said: "The new programme has allowed us to accelerate our certification process like never before. Our AHU fans are already AMCA and Eurovent certified in record time. For me, this achievement is not just about meeting industry standards, but about going above and beyond for the benefit of our customers. Certification not only provides transparent and reliable performance data, but demonstrates our commitment to excellence."
