United States. As part of a divestment strategy designed to allow the growth of its coatings business, Modine has announced that it sold its facilities in both states to the company Protecall.
Until now, the selling company used these facilities to provide after-sales application services, thanks to which the HVAC units were coated with corrosion protection.
"This sale continues the process we began in 2021 with the closure of our Pompano Beach facility and reflects our strategy to pursue higher-value opportunities. We want to focus on proven technologies and services that can accelerate profitable growth, such as product licensing," said Mike Powell, vice president and general manager of Modine Coatings.
The sale is expected to conclude by the end of this month of September. However, Modine will continue to own and licensor spray applied coatings used in aftermarket applications. Modine currently has more than 100 authorized applicators in the Americas region.
"Modine Coatings has had a long-term licensing partnership with Protecall and we are pleased to continue that relationship with the sale of these facilities. We look forward to continuing our focus on expanding our certified applicator program, providing equipment and coil manufacturers with access to our coating network, and identifying new market segments for our coating technologies," Powell added.
