Peru. NIVEA required an air conditioning solution for its offices in Miraflores, which would allow autonomy and energy savings, so as not to depend on the existing chiller in the building and control the temperature of each area at ease. The Todoclima Group circumvented the challenges of this project by installing a VRF system.
The first thing in this project was to understand the needs of the client, so the Todoclima Group, also known as Todoclima Peru SAC, made an initial approach in which it established what NIVEA needed.
"When we talked to the client, he told us that the offices had an ice water system with a cooling chiller for the entire building." Then, before deciding which new system was going to be installed, they also consulted about the air conditioning needs, the answer that was obtained was that it was imperative to have a system independent of the building, which was also efficient and allows them to save.
That is why the installation company proposed a VRF system, which provides autonomy and greater flexibility to control the temperature of each small space, guaranteeing energy savings. Moreover, to ensure profitability, Todoclima carried out a cost-benefit simulation and demonstrated that savings of 20% of expenses could be obtained.
The answer: a VRF system
The choice of a VRF-type system was related to the benefits offered by this solution. First of all its low energy consumption, since it only uses the necessary load, which translates into significant economic savings. Secondly, this system uses Inverter technology, which allows it to reach the desired temperature in a short time and keeps it in a minimum range of variation.
As a third point in favor, VRF systems have low sound levels, characterized by very quiet outdoor units. As a fourth and last, these types of devices are easy to install and maintain, since they are not especially heavy and have a modular design.
Also, the impact on the structure of the office was going to be very low, since copper pipe of very small diameters would be used.
Another extra fact is that, currently, only wild-free cassette evaporator equipment is being implemented, which takes advantage of the ceiling architecture. This also achieves a more aesthetic installation and avoids the need to make a slope for drainage, because these equipment have their own condensate pump.
A little more about the Wind-Free Cassette
Samsung's Wind-Free Cassette technology was of special choice by Todoclima because it effectively maintains a level of freshness without the unpleasant feeling of cold air. Fresh air is gently dispersed through 10,000 micro holes so you don't feel too hot or too cold.
It emphasizes its ability to eliminate drafts, as it produces a dispersed and smooth air flow. It also provides full control, since it allows you to monitor the air, regulate the temperature, receive updates on the energy used and the performance of the equipment, from any device with internet through an application.
In addition, the system learns the patterns within each environment to automatically adjust the operation of the system and maximize the comfort of the occupants.
To conclude, Todoclima added that one of the greatest benefits of the VRF system, apart from the energy savings, is that it allows working at great distances between condensers and evaporators, since this system does not depend on "a whole" and, instead, has an air system independent of the rest.
