Danfoss celebrates 25 years of presence in Mexico

Danfoss 25 añosMexico. Danfoss Mexico celebrates its 25th anniversary of having established itself in Apodaca, Nuevo León. "For Danfoss to achieve more with less represents hard work, knowledge, engineering and the belief that little by little we can make the impossible give way, and what begins as hope becomes the reality of tomorrow," said Xavier Casas, CEO of Danfoss Mexico.

Danfoss began operations in Mexico in 1995 with 1,800 employees manufacturing compressors, added filter and expansion valve lines to its product portfolio in 1997, and a year later established Appliance Control in Monterrey to serve the North American market. Five years after its arrival in Mexico, it became a leader in the manufacture of filters with an exponential growth in sales, and in 2001 it started the operations of the systems and assemblies division.

Shortly after its first decade in the country, Danfoss started the production of the TR6 expansion valve line, and the valves for Industrial Refrigeration, strengthening its customer base and consolidating its product line.

In 2008, Danfoss Drives strengthens its portfolio of customers and products, and in 2011 the company establishes the production line of Chatleff Distributors. True to its social responsibility, in 2010 it wins for the first time the distinction of Socially Responsible Company (ESR) and reaches 5 years without accidents making safety a priority. Since 2014 it produces heat exchangers, and since 2015 with the "Be the Change" initiative, it implements a change of culture regarding continuous improvement.

For 4 years Danfoss has had a corporate office in Mexico City and its industrial refrigeration line increased significantly to meet the demand in the Americas. In this 2020 it obtained for the tenth consecutive year the ESR recognition and continues to innovate, strengthen and grow its operations with the production line of Condensing Units. Always with the premise of facing the future with environmentally friendly solutions, efficient in energy consumption and profitable.

Being located in the same time zone as many OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), and having reinforced its logistics function with a distribution center on the outskirts of the factory, Danfoss Mexico can make deliveries in hours to local OEMs in Mexico and in a matter of days to all large OEMs in the U.S., but it also serves as a strong connection to the Latin American region.

Today, Danfoss Mexico promotes business within the refrigeration and heating segments and produces filter dryers, expansion and industrial valves, distributors, heat exchangers and condensing units; each backed by laboratories giving quick answers to customers. All these lines represent 70% of the capacity of the site, which allows to develop new business opportunities. The local management team, composed of Cecilia Nacianceno, Francisco Torres, Edgardo López, led by Xavier Casas, agree that the 25th anniversary is an important milestone for any company.
