Argentina. The Technological University of Buenos Aires and ASHRAE Argentinca are preparing the Energy Assessment in Buildings course that begins on August 14, which is designed to provide the basic knowledge necessary to perform energy audits of buildings and prepare for the ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional BEAP-ASHRAE certification.
During the first part of the course, the methods and processes necessary for energy assessment and certification in a building will be presented. During the last weeks the students will carry out a fieldwork in a real building. This work will involve the realization of a preliminary analysis of energy use, a "walk-through" review, measurements of the Quality of the Indoor Environment (IEQ), analysis of energy efficiency measures, post-audit reports and preparation of the presentation of Building EQ. It will be guided by certified professionals to present a Building EQ qualification.
General objectives:
- Convey awareness about the importance of the efficient use of energy in buildings;
- Disseminate "good practices" in relation to the use of energy in buildings;
- Complete the training of professionals so that they can carry out energy audits in buildings and propose improvement plans;
- Transmit the basic knowledge required for the ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional BEAP certification.
The course is aimed at engineers, architects, students of the last two years of the engineering and architecture careers, professionals with at least 2 years of experience in the field. It is suggested to have knowledge of the English language (not exclusive).
