Mexico. Danfoss announced that as a strategic partner of ASHRAE, it participated in the training program carried out by the Monterrey chapter of this partnership, showing energy efficiency in hot gas de-icing for educational entities, government officials and the general population.
Juan Carlos Noriega, director of Danfoss Mexico, stressed that this methodology is an alternative for industrial refrigeration plants and shared Danfoss' knowledge of innovation in the field. "Hot gas de-icing for industrial refrigeration plants, different from the standard solution, is an alternative that allows to improve the efficiency and safety of the de-icing process with the benefit of energy savings, improves the compression capacity of the system as well as temperature control in applications", Explained.
In this training, cycle reversal de-icing, direct gas recirculation systems, hot de-icing systems in centralized systems, both direct expansion systems and flooded systems, were analyzed. The components that must incorporate the different fluid circulation lines involved in this type of solutions were analyzed, such as the liquid inlet lines to the evaporator, the hot gas inlet to the evaporator and the evaporator outlet lines to the suction both with steam and with a mixture of vapor and liquid. Juan Carlos Noriega conveyed the importance of this hot gas de-icing system and the levels it has reached in refrigeration facilities as a result of energy savings, applications that must be known by all refrigeration technicians for a correct design and use of them.
"The purpose of Danfoss is to create a culture in energy efficiency, our actions align with the dynamics of improvement and learning of ASHRAE which leads us to the development of the best practices and standards of the industry," Noriega emphasized.
