Chile. The Chilean Chamber of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (CChRyC), through its Center for the Evaluation of Labor Competencies Fríocalor, held on May 4, the culminating ceremony -at the southern headquarters of INACAP- of the first tranche of the Environmental Subsidy Program with funds from the United Nations Development Program, which will deliver its certification diploma to 91 candidates evaluated in the area of refrigeration and air conditioning.
These days emphasize the importance of making visible and, subsequently, supporting this type of programs that work rigorously in the optimization of people in their capacity as workers, making Chile a country with a high level of vision and with a perspective of a broad future and rich in betting on people rather than on the professional titles they hold.
The 91 candidates that were evaluated correspond to the profiles of Installer and Maintainer of Commercial Air Conditioning Systems, Installer and Maintainer of Commercial Refrigeration Systems, Installer and Maintainer of Industrial Air Conditioning Systems and Installer and Maintainer of Industrial Refrigeration Systems.
This certificate gives a curricular weight to these people and gives them a legal framework to their knowledge and skills, in addition to providing added value to the sector of air conditioning installations, being part of an area that did not previously enjoy so much supervision. "We have certified people, which constitutes an important basis for the quality of the item. Even so, the task of the coming years is that the regulations and certification are mandatory," said Fabiola González, technical coordinator of the Centro de Evaluación de Competencias Laboral Fríocalor.
This program was conceived as a result of the meeting held in March, between the Fríocalor center and the auditor of the United Nations Development Program with the Environment and Energy Program Officer, Marta E. Comte, and one of the parties to this agreement aims at the certification of the people evaluated, and therefore, to be able to complement the technicians' improvement efforts by narrowing the existing quality gap in the sector, which ends up providing a mutual added value both to the parties involved in the program and to the candidates themselves.
Finally, it is emphasized that this agreement aims to complement the efforts of the parties involved and develop mutual cooperation in scientific, cultural, teaching, pedagogical technical and administrative technical matters, in order to allow the development of research projects, teaching and extension programs, conducting academic events in areas of mutual interest, and above all, evaluating for certification of people from the region and surroundings.
