The World Green Building Council and china Green Building Council announced the union of their efforts to increase sustainable buildings around the world and reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. Although China's sustainable building council, due to internal regulations, is not an official member of the World GBC, this collaborative alliance was formalized last April.
This agreement is of great importance insofar as China represents the largest building construction market in the world. With up to 2 billion square meters per year, it materializes almost half of the new constructions worldwide that are expected for the next decade.
In Colombia, since 2009 the CCCS represents the World GBC as a full Member and, at the regional and local level, leads the sustainable development of the construction industry by working with and for its Members in order to realize opportunities for its evolution towards integral sustainability.
