Colombia. Victaulic announced its participation in the ExpoIndustrial fair, which will be held from May 16 to 18 in the city of Cali.
The company will present its new solutions for piping systems that are designed to increase installation efficiency, installer safety, and decrease maintenance downtime.
"Industries that use slotted mechanical systems are able to complete new projects or jobs more quickly, while helping to maintain worker safety and contributing to the overall sustainability objects of the building," said Luis Henao, Regional Manager for Victaulic in Colombia. Central America and the Caribbean. "The multiple benefits that are obtained through the use of slotted pipes can easily become a competitive advantage, an advantage worthy of a contractor's attention," he adds.
Victaulic will present there the 795 Series Knife Valve, which is designed for abrasive fluid piping systems. The new design solves a difficulty the industry has long faced: the complex process of disassembling a valve completely flanged from the pipe for maintenance, reconstruction and/or repair; which implies a great waste of time and high risk for the safety of the maintenance team. The design of the new valve allows maintenance to be achieved on site because all components subject to wear inside the valve are contained in a detachable cartridge that can be removed without having to decouple the valve body from the piping system. This unique design reduces maintenance time by up to 95% and generates up to 60% savings per year in maintenance costs.
The company will also introduce the Refuse-to-Fuse system ideal for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. The solution uses mechanical couplings to join HDPE pipe segments allowing installers of this type of pipe to eliminate the risks associated with bonding by means of thermo fusion, in addition to assembling pipes up to 10 times faster. The system offers solutions for joining HDPE tubes in ISO sizes from 63 mm to 900 mm. Due to the benefits of HDPE, the use of this type of pipe has been extended for decades to water distribution networks and processes in the petrochemical and mining industries, among others. However, until today installers relied on thermo fusion welding to join the pipe, a process that requires special equipment and certification.
Another solution is the Vic-Press, a type 304 or 316 pressed stainless steel pipe mechanical joining system that does not require flames and joins 1/2" to 2" pipe in a matter of seconds. The Vic-Press system is fast, simple and safe to install. The tube is cut to size, marked for visual verification, and inserted into a coupling, accessory or valve with factory pre-lubricated ends. The Victaulic PFT510 installation tool is used to press the Vic-Press component over the end of the tube, providing positive mechanical interlocking and creating a rigid and permanent joint.
