United States. Through a statement, Carrier announced that its latest chiller models are compatible with the low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant R513A.
The AquaEdge 19XR water-cooled chillercentrifuge, 23XR water-cooled screw chiller and AquaForce 30XV/XA air-cooled screw chiller are compatible with both R-134a and R-513A option.
"Our customers trust Carrier for its quality, reliability and predictability and will be pleased to know that our AquaEdge 19XR and 23XR water-cooled chillers along with our AquaForce 30XV/XA air-cooled chillers can smoothly transition from R-134a to lower GWP R-513A while also pursuing the development of other low-global warming refrigerant alternatives," said Chris Opie, director of north american commercial marketing.

The ability to convert our R-134a centrifugal chillers to R-513A provides facility owners and managers with even greater options that ensure the full service life of this chiller," Opie added.
