International. The American refrigerated transport company Carrier Transicold has announced the acquisition of the Dutch manufacturer of sustainable transport refrigeration systems, TRS Transportkoeling bv.
Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Noordwijk, TRS has grown from a local service organization to an international producer of sustainable refrigerated transport systems for trucks, containers and controlled atmosphere refrigerated transport. It designs, produces and offers engineering services in cooling systems that use hydroelectric technology. The supply power of the truck engine improves fuel efficiency, decreases noise levels and reduces maintenance.
"The acquisition of TRS allows Carrier Transicold to enhance its range of engineless refrigerated transport, strengthening our efforts towards achieving a sustainable cold chain," said Victor Calvo, vice president and general manager of Carrier Transicold Truck Trailer, EMEA, Russia, Asia. "We have seen the emergence of a number of rules to limit noise and environmental impact in recent years. We believe TRS's innovation and technology will further help our customers meet their efficiency and sustainability goals."
