International. Panasonic claims to have supplied the first CO2 cooling system to Taiwan. In one of Japan's leading exponents of CO2 supermarket systems, Panasonic supplied the system to Taiwan's Linkou Wenyi store FamilyMart, a foreign franchisee convenience store operator in Japan.
Taiwan FamilyMart operates around 3,000 stores in Taiwan and Panasonic has a history of delivering freezers with CO2 refrigerant to FamilyMart in Japan.
The installed product is Panasonic's pressure adjustment control type that first went on sale in Japan late last year. The solution addresses the common problem of the variance of the outlet pressure to the display case (usually 5-9 MPa), automatically controlling the transfer pressure of the condensation unit to about 6 MPa, throughout the year.
Panasonic began verification tests of CO2 cooling devices in 2009. Since September 2010, the Japanese manufacturer has released four models and supplied a total of 3,000 units.
