United States. A-Gas Americas has announced a multi-million dollar investment for a second plasma arc Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) destruction unit at its production facility in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The new destruction unit is currently being installed with a commissioning date of early this year. This will double the available volume of ODS destruction at A-Gas Americas.
This increased capacity will be used by A-Gas for the development of high-quality California Carbon Offsets (CCOs) to be used by entities with compliance obligations under California's greenhouse gas trading and coverage program.
The addition of this second destruction unit also gives A-Gas the ability to offer necessary destruction capability for developers of third-party CCO projects. A-Gas Americas considers plasma arc technology as the cleanest, most preferred method for the destruction of ODS with high global warming, with an efficiency that can exceed 99.9999% of the harmful gases of ODS.
