International. Schneider Electric made public the expansion of its sustainability goals, with ten commitments in line with actions to reduce the planet's temperature by two degrees Celsius and thus contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
These ten objectives reinforce Schneider Electric's commitment to ensure that in 15 years all its work centers are neutral spaces and the creation of a coherent industrial ecosystem, in which to embark customers and suppliers to:
Reduce your energy consumption by 30% through active energy efficiency solutions.
Contribute to improving the lives of people at the base of the pyramid by providing access to clean energy and alleviating energy poverty.
The following are the ten commitments that impact its products and solutions, its R&D and its logistics and industrial chain:
- Quantify the CO2 impact for 100% of the new projects of the company's large customers
- Avoid the emission of 120,000 tons of CO2 with end-of-life cycle services based on circular economy.
- Facilitate access to lighting and communication systems with low-carbon solutions for 50 million people at the Base of the Pyramid.
- Implement energy storage initiatives that favor the development of renewable energies and microgrids.
- Find an alternative to using SF6 gas in 5 years and eliminate SF6 from all Schneider Electric products in 10 years.
- Reduce schneider Electric's energy intensity by 3.5% per year.
- Reduce Schneider Electric's CO2 emissions in transport by 3.5% per year.
- Invest 10,000 million euros in research and development for sustainability in the next 10 years.
- Issuance of a climate bond to finance research and innovation low in CO2 in all Schneider Electric businesses.
