International. Daikin recently presented two new developments for the Latin American market: the announcement of the opening of its own office in Peru, and the development of a VRV air conditioning installation with water-cooled condensing units in Chile, carried out in the Sky Costanera of the Costanera Center.
Miguel Castro, general manager of Daikin Peru, commented that the official entry of the company in the Peruvian country "means a new stage in the struggle to continue maintaining a strong presence at a time when the market is diversified and with strong competitors."
On the other hand, in Chile, they installed a VRV III technology equipment that considers 693 outdoor units cooled by water and more than 2,800 indoor units, and that add the Costanera Center to emblematic projects developed by Daikin in the world such as the Agora Mall in the Dominican Republic, Waldorf Astoria in Panama, Burl Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, and the Orlando Science Center in Florida, USA.
VRV technology, today widely known and applied in the world, was created by Daikin in 1982 and all components are of Japanese technology and manufacture, allowing energy savings of about 30% compared to conventional air conditioning systems. Today the VRV IV is already available on the market.
"We are today penetrating strongly with projects like this and in a year and a half we have reached a significant market share. Daikin has technologies, products and solutions to participate in all vertical markets of the industry and we will target all of them," says Julio Almonacid, General Manager of Daikin Airconditioning Chile S.A.
