International. A recent report by Navigant Research analyzed the potential of the global Commercial Heat and Power Combining Systems (CHP) market for a range of construction applications, including global market forecasts for system installations, installed capacity, average facility capacity size, and revenue till 2024.
According to the report, the commercial CHP market is expected to be worth $14 billion annually by 2024.
Policymakers, utilities and building owners in a growing number of countries are increasingly interested in commercial cogeneration systems, due to concerns about grid reliability, electricity demand and greenhouse gas emissions.
"In 2015, the technical potential of a global acreage that can be served by the commercial CHP is estimated at 441 billion square feet, but only a fraction of this set can be realistic, due to the high initial capital cost associated with these types of systems," said Brett Feldman, an analyst at Navigant Research.
