United States. Emerson Climate Technologies announced that it is building a fully operational commercial kitchen module to research and develop solutions to the challenges of the foodservice industry, including connected kitchen concepts, new refrigerants and food safety.
The kitchen is one of five modules currently under construction at the Helix Innovation Center, a nearly 40,000-square-meter facility located on the University of Dayton campus. Emerson's total investment of $35 million will foster an ambitious collaborative approach to conducting research that creates new technologies that address the new challenges of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R).
The 1,500-square-meter commercial kitchen will help Emerson and its employees address innovative solutions to the current and future challenges of food service operations. The company is launching the process by creating a multi-functional team of foodservice product experts to interview chefs and commercial kitchen staff across the country.
