International. Sodeca Group announced that it continues to strengthen its sustainability and energy efficiency, thanks to which it already has more than 1,000 solar panels located on the roof of its production centers.
These photovoltaic installations generate more than 500,000 kWh per year, covering approximately a third of the energy consumption of the business group. With this investment in solar energy, Sodeca Group is also actively contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions. The sustainable energy produced by solar panels avoids the emission of more than 200 tonnes of CO2 annually, reinforcing the company's commitment to the fight against climate change and the transition to a more sustainable industrial model.
Sodeca Group's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions have been recognised by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) with the award of the Calculo and I Reduce the Carbon Footprint seals.
In addition to the production of renewable energy, charging points for electric vehicles have been implemented in several Sodeca Group production plants at its facilities, thus facilitating sustainable mobility among its employees and collaborators. These actions are part of a sustainability strategy that seeks to minimize the environmental impact of industrial activity and promote the use of clean energy.
SODECA's headquarters in Ripoll is a clear example of this commitment, as the Environmental Management System implemented in this main plant has recently been certified with ISO 14001, according to the company.
