Brazil. The Southern Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation (Asbrav) announced that next summer will motivate a 25% increase in sales of air conditioners for the residential market.
The announcement was made during the last Climate Festival that had about 350 people belonging to the industry. However, the figure does not seem to meet the expectations of industry members: "Although there is a good pace of sales growth, the industry considers that, compared to the external market, there is a great disadvantage. The main concern is the high tax rate and low incentives for the national industry," said Luiz Afonso Dias, president of Asbrav.
Meanwhile, the president of the São Paulo Refrigeration, Heating and Air Treatment Industry Syndicate, José Rogelio Medela, commented that the high tax and labor pressure are out of context and that they only generate negative impacts on the HVAC industry.
