International. Schneider Electric reported that it aims to save 10% in energy consumption by 2014 in the 160 logistics and production centers it has.
The multinational company executes a plan called Schneider Energy Action with which it seeks to achieve significant reductions in the use of energy, gas and oil and which has had a large investment for the acquisition of variable speed drives, controllers, building management systems, lighting, and existing heating equipment that will reward the investment in about three years.
Jean-Yves Blanc, Schneider Energy Action Manager, commented that so far they have managed to reduce energy consumption by 15% through the savings program. "A program like this requires a solid methodology to coordinate the different actions. This experience will allow us to support our customers around the world who are in similar processes related to energy efficiency."
