Opteon XP40 (R-449A) is a replacement refrigerant of R-404A/R-507, R-407A/F, and R-22 that does not damage the ozone layer, has low global warming potential and is based on hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) and is suitable for both new equipment and retrofitting existing equipment.

Opteon™ XP40 has the PCG of 1397, which represents a reduction of 65% and provides a power consumption of 8-12% lower than R-404A/R-507. Compared to R-407A, Opteon™ XP40 offers better performance with similar capacity and 34% lower PCG.

Among its main advantages are its low PCG: a 65% reduction compared to R-404A/R-507; 8-12% more energy efficient than with R-404A/R-507 and safer and more reliable.

Approved by most equipment and component manufacturers and alternative for the R-407 series of low and medium temperature refrigerants.
