The Sodercan Group of the Ministry of Industry and Technological Development of the Government of Cantabria has approved two R + D + i projects in offshore wind energy promoted by the company Equipos Nuclear, S.A (Ensa) in collaboration with other firms in the region.
These aids, according to information from the company collected by Europa Press, are part of the R + D + i plan of Renewable Energies of Cantabria, and are part of the "strategic" framework of the Government's wind plan.
Thus, on the one hand, the 'ROV project to support Offshore platforms' will serve to develop an unmanned underwater robot to support offshore platforms.
Silecmar and Ensa participate in this initiative, and it has an execution period of two years.
The second project is 'Optimization of machining processes for large parts of offshore wind turbines', and aims to optimize the machining processes of the "bugs" of the wind turbines.
Ensa and Talleres Martínez participate here, which have an execution period of 17 months.
These are the first two projects that represent Ensa's first commitment to participate in the recently created marine renewable energy cluster, the company stresses.
NUCLEAR EQUIPMENT
Ensa was established on July 10, 1973 to meet the demands of the Spanish civil nuclear program for the manufacture of large nuclear components.
The construction of the plant, located in Maliaño south of the Bay of Santander, was carried out during the years 1975 and 1976, the year in which operations and the manufacture of the first components for the Spanish market began.
Conceived and designed exclusively for the civil nuclear industry, in 1978 ENSA obtained its first ASME nuclear seal by delivering the first component, the reactor vessel for the Valdecaballeros Power Plant, in 1981.
In 1980 the Services Division was created, carrying out since then work in fuel handling plants, maintenance of facilities, decontamination and dismantling. ENSA has designed and manufactured containers (storage and transport) and racks for fuel handling. Later, in 1986 he created together with Westinghouse, ENWESA.
The Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) is the Public Law entity under the Ministry of Economy and Finance that owns 100% of ENSA's ascciones.
SEPI is a managing agent of the public business sector, whose mission is to make its business holdings profitable and orient all its actions in the public interest, which gives it the responsibility of combining the objectives of economic and social profitability. (EUROPA PRESS)
