A new concept of ecological cultural center has taken over the streets of the La Boca neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The purpose of this ecological cultural center is to bring educational points to different areas of the city, starting with the esplanade of the Proa foundation.
The project developed by the architectural firm a77, known for its housing systems made with reused materials, is built based on a recycled container and furniture made of reclaimed wood. It also has a green roof.
"The nomadic cultural center" is an urban education project whose objective is to generate a link with the community to promote learning through experimentation, workshops, laboratories and cultural and ecological activities.
Thanks to its design, the ecological cultural center can be transported and adapted to various spaces and situations in cities.
Your first stop is the neighborhood of La Boca which is located between the tourist area and a low-income neighborhood, and right next to one of the most polluted rivers in the world, the Riachuelo Matanza.
In its first weekends the activities of the ecological cultural center were related to sustainability, among which it was about imagining all the fish and birds that used to live in that area that is now polluted, and another activity was about imagining the cities of the future.
The nomadic ecological cultural center will be in La Boca until Easter and then will move to Parque Patricios y Barracas, where activities on technology and design will be incorporated.
