DLA Piper advises EDP Renovables in the construction of a 120 MW wind farm in Poland

DLA Piper has advised, through the offices in Warsaw, London and Madrid, EDP Renovables in the design, construction and operation project of a wind farm in Poland with an installed capacity of 120 MW, according to the firm in a statement.

The wind farm has been financed through a loan granted by a syndicate of commercial banks composed of Bank Polska Kasa Opieki (Pekao Bank), Millennium Bank and Espirito Santo Bank, among others, as well as by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, together with a loan granted by the European Investment Bank.

The DLA Piper team in Madrid was headed by the partner specialized in energy Javier Santos, also counting on Jesús Zapata, partner responsible for the banking and financial department, along with Juan Gelabert, senior associate of that department.

The DLA Piper team in Warsaw was led by partners Krzysztof Wiater and Patryk Laskorzynski, with the support of senior associates Jaroslaw Witek and Marta Frackowiak; while the team from DLA Piper's London office was led by partner Nigel Drew and counsel Harry Brunt.

The partner responsible for energy of DLA Piper in Spain commented that "this operation is an example of the possibilities and resources of the firm and its geographical presence, together with the experience accumulated by lawyers in key sectors such as renewable energies and project financing".

In addition, Santos added that "taking into account the current market situation, where project financing is carried out in a much more selective way, it is particularly important to have top-level advisors accustomed to participating in multijurisdictional operations." (EUROPA PRESS)
