The Philadelphia Eagles' stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, home to major NFL games, will soon be the first stadium in the world to generate its own renewable energy, from solar and wind energy. This football team has partnered with Solar Blue, a Florida company that will invest about 30 million dollars in this project.
Elk stadium will feature 2500 solar panels and 80 spiral wind turbines to generate electricity renewablely. The stadium will also have a co-power generation plant that will use natural gas and biodiesel. The project is planned to be completed by the start of the 2011 football season.
