Mexico. The North American Development Bank (NADB) and mission solar energy have teamed up to develop a renewables project in Tijuana, Baja California, south of the border in Mexico.
NADBank awarded a $125,000 grant to build a solar park at the Baja California Pediatric Cancer Center. Once completed next year, the solar park is expected to generate a substantial portion of the pediatric cancer center's electricity.
Located in San Antonio, Mission Solar Energy will donate the solar panels for the project, while the NADBank grant will pay for the design, engineering and construction of the project. The Spanish company Renovables Enertis will serve as a promoter.
Solar Energy Mission CEO Alex Kim said the company was honored to participate in the project, which is expected to demonstrate the quality of the company's products.
"As we seek to expand our product distribution to Mexico, it is important that we make a local impact through projects like this," Kim said in a statement.
