Mexico. With an investment of 8 million pesos (about US$600,000), the company Merik inaugurated an academy dedicated to training technicians in automation and access control.
"The Merik Academy represents a technological advance in the face of the increasing demand and presence of automatisms in offices, airports, shopping centers, parking areas and intelligent buildings," said engineer Carlos Rojas, general director of the institution.
This initiative aims to raise the professionalism and productivity of installers in automation through interactive videos specialized in each of the certifications. "The objective is for certified technicians to comply with the Japanese concept established in manufacturing 'well the first time', since a facility in which it is necessary to return because something went wrong, generates higher costs and loss of credibility," Said Rojas.
The requirements to enter the Merik Academy are to have a minimum experience of two years in the field, to belong to the IDA (International door association) and to pass a course in mechanics and basic electricity.
