Argentina. The gaucho nation is emerging as the first and only in Latin America to have human resources and technology to build turnkey wind farms, this after achieving 100% in the production of parts and equipment of wind turbines.
The Wind Cluster expects this group to be joined by 200 companies (58 currently linked) which represent the value chain for the generation of this type of energy supply.
Argentina's possibilities to export wind turbines are born from the current existence of two national brands, a brand in the prototype stage and a fourth in projection. That nation has a wind potential of around 2000 GW, that is, 100 times the total installed capacity in the country adding thermal, hydraulic and nuclear sources.
A total of 1.5 million families would benefit from the energy supply programs, in addition to savings of US$1.79 billion per year in imported fuels and reducing tons of CO2 emissions per year by 2.4 million.
