Uruguay/Brazil. Both countries are in the negotiation of an energy agreement that will benefit them with about 500 megawatts (MW) of energy per day.
Uruguay is in the process of renewing its energy matrix, so it has sought alternative sources of supply such as wind energy or biomass.
Currently the process is in development and analysis on issues such as regulations, regulations, system operation, marketing and profit sharing between both countries of the Southern Cone of Latin America.
The Government of Uruguay estimates that its country will have a surplus of wind energy by 2015, accompanied by biomass, so they consider it key to confirm the joint work with the Brazilian country in order to reduce the costs of tariffs to users.
