Norway. The largest experimental CO2 capture center in the world has already been inaugurated, which is located in the Mongstan Technology Center (CTM).
Alstom is one of the selected technology suppliers for the construction and testing of CO2-capturing facilities. "It is of primary interest to us that in the CTM we can test our technology both in gases from the gas thermal power plant, and in those generated in the industrial process of a nearby refinery. It is a valuable experience to improve and extend the use of this technology," said Patrick Fragman, Vice President of Environmental Control Systems and Carbon Capture and Storage at Alstom.
Between 12 and 18 months will take the testing and operation process in which new improvements are expected to appear. According to the company, fossil fuels will be able to account for 60% of electricity generation in 2030, so the application of new alternatives becomes fundamental.
