Colombia. The Colombian Association of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration reported that the Technical Regulation of Thermal Installations (RETSIT, by its acronyme in spanish) came into force on December 30, 2024.
At the same time, ACAIRE highlighted that there are three key points around which the actors of the Colombian HVAC and refrigeration industry can improve their processes based on the regulations already in force:
-Training: it is essential that companies in the sector are prepared to implement the provisions of the RETSIT.
-Declarations of compliance: the association called to ensure that projects that have a construction date after December 29, 2024 comply with the new requirements.
-Inspection requirements: additionally, it is important to clarify that, as contemplated in title 4 of the "Demonstration of conformity" regulation, the actors of the HVAC and refrigeration industry in the country are subject to the requirements established for the evaluation of conformity.
