International. The Institute of Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology (AHRTI) has just announced that it is receiving proposals for a project to evaluate refrigerant destruction technology.
According to the convening organization, the idea is to enhance the technology for the final disposal of refrigerant substances that have reached the end of their useful life, turning them into raw material components that can be reused commercially.
For this reason, AHRTI is inviting qualified proposals to design and build a pilot plant in which the technology can be demonstrated and evaluated. The form for Project 9021 can be submitted online.
Incorporated as the research arm of AHRI, AHRTI is a non-profit organization created to conduct scientific research in the public interest. Its mission is to foster applied research on technologies to improve products, systems, and controls that benefit the general public in the areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVACR), and water heating.
