Panama. Reliable Controls' authorized distributor, Copanac, installed a building automation system of the brand in the Ciudad de las Artes complex.
Ciudad de las Artes is a project of the Ministry of Culture of Panama that is dedicated to developing and strengthening arts and culture in the country. Comprised of seven buildings, the complex offers facilities for the National Ballet, the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Institute of Culture, the National Council of Writers, the National School of Dance, the National School of Plastic Arts, and much more.
Ciudad de las Artes is expected to host educational, exhibition and collection spaces for approximately 20,000 people a year, including 5,000 young people.
Copanac used BACnet to integrate Reliable Controls' technology with the cold water plant's pumps and Modbus to integrate the power generator plates. In total, 177 Reliable Controls devices monitor and control 22,000 m2 of covered space in the seven buildings.
Today, facility operators can efficiently control the automation system over the internet using RC-WebView software, an easy-to-use browser-based solution that combines the power of business tools with a very simple and user-friendly interface. RC-WebView is ideal for sites like this (with multiple buildings connected to the internet) providing the ability to handle alarms in bulk, schedule one campus building at a time, define user roles on a directory server, and more, without compromising the performance of the entire installation.
Ciudad de las Artes staff are extremely pleased with the ability to display live data from the system using interactive HVAC, lighting and security charts. RC-Archive and RC-Reporter software provide facility operators with easy access to energy and building management data, offering a comprehensive record of performance that allows them to continuously improve operational efficiency.
