International. Located in Tallahassee, the new Danfoss factory has an area of 13,470 square meters and is valued at US $62 million.
The facility will house the production of the TTS/TG/TH lines for Danfoss Turbocor compressors, doubling the current capacity to more than 14,000 compressors per year.
"The increase in production will help meet the growing market demand for high-efficiency compressors for refrigeration and heating," said Kim Fausing, President and CEO of Danfoss.
Ricardo Schneider, President of Danfoss Turbocor, commented: "As part of Danfoss' green growth strategy, we are regionalizing our supply chains to manufacture products closer to our customers, improve service and decarbonize our operations."
Turbocor celebrated its tenth anniversary last November as a wholly-owned company of Danfoss. Initially founded in 1994 and subsequently converted into a joint venture with Danfoss in 2004, the company continues to grow its presence, with an expanded facility in Haiyan, China, set to open next year, and the establishment of a configuration center at Danfoss' corporate headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark.
The Nordborg headquarters currently manages sales and service for Turbocor's European customers. A new production facility is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
