International. The manufacturer Danfoss took advantage of its participation in the ALADYR 2024 International Congress, which took place on April 17 and 18 in Mexico, to carry out the launch.
During the event, the company showcased different solutions for the desalination, water treatment and reuse industry. In addition, it held the technical conference called 'High pressure pumps for maximum energy efficiency in desalination', which was developed by engineer Felipe Ibarra.
In this way, Danfoss became the first company to introduce the technology in ceramics, as well as other hardened surfaces in pressure pumps, intended for applications in the desalination industry.
By replacing PEEK with ceramic in all major wear parts, the new pumps are positioned as the most energy-efficient high-pressure system on the market, according to Danfoss.
The manufacturer also specified that the solutions are for SWRO applications, offer less leakage and have even longer service intervals.
According to Felipe Ibarra, who also works as HPP - LAM sales manager at Danfoss, ceramic pressure pumps, PPPs are a good example of the advantages of collaboration with the customer in R+D projects.
"We listen to our customers for the development of new products. They give us a strong voice when we decide on our innovation, and allow us to try new things and gain critical operational experience before moving into full-scale production. The new ceramic APP pump would not be what it is, without the knowledge that our customers have shared with us," said the executive.
